The attendees of this class will learn to combine the basic Schema building blocks and datatypes to create their own schemas and will leave the workshop with a hands-on practical experience on several strategies for modular design. Also they will get an overview of the major steps and phases in an XML modelling project and be encouraged to think ahead when doing their design and implementation. Finally, it is an important goal for this workshop that the attendees learn to access and use the XML Schema Recommendation provided by W3C on the WWW on their own. Audience: DTD and Schema developers, Application developers.

Vsebina:

• The XML Schema, its purpose, creation, and use,
• Phases in an XML project,
• Datatypes, content models and namespaces in 
• Exercises in building schemas using a commercial XML tool.

Predznanje:

• XML knowledge as acquired in the course "XML introduction" in 
• Knowledge of basic XML markup syntax and experience with building XML DTDs.
